Of Monsters And Men: Beneath the skin
A quattro anni di distanza dal disco di debutto “My head is an animal” (oltre 2 milioni di copie vendute nel mondo), l’attesa per il nuovo album dei Of Monsters And Men è terminata. “Beneath the skin”è il secondo album della band islandese.
Anticipato dal singolo “Crystals”, il cui video ha già totalizzato 3.4 ml di visualizzazioni in versione lyric e oltre 800 mila in versione originale, l’album è stato registrato durante lo scorso anno tra l’Islanda e la California e co-prodotto da Rich Costey (Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, Foster The People, Interpol).
Questa la tracklist: Crystals, Human, Hunger, Wolves Without Teeth, Empire, Slow Life, Organs, Black Water, Thousand Eyes, I Of The Storm, We Sink.
La band partirà a maggio per un lungo tour mondiale che farà tappa a luglio anche in Italia per due date: il 7 luglio a Milano per Unaltrofestival e l’8 luglio a Roma (Auditorium Parco della Musica).

Gli Of Monsters And Men hanno fatto molta strada da quando si sono formati nel 2010 in Islanda ad oggi. La cantante e chitarrista Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir decise di reclutare braccia in più per sostenere i suoi progetti musicali, le piaceva come la sua voce si mescolava e univa a quella di Ragnar “Raggi” Þórhallsson (cantante e chitarrista). Iniziano a scrivere canzoni insieme e nel 2010 fondano gli Of Monsters And Men insieme a Brynjar Leifsson (chitarrista), Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson (batterista), Árni Guðjónsson (tastierista e fisarmonicista) e Kristján Páll Kristjánsson (bassista).
Nel 2011 grazie a “Little Talks diventano un fenomeno mondiale, successo confermato dal disco di debutto “My Head Is An Animal” (oltre 2 milioni di copie vendute nel mondo).
Da quel momento il gruppo prende parte a numerosi festival come Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Newport Folk Festival, Osheaga, Glastonbury, Reading e Leeds, Pukkelpop e Splendour in the Grass dimostrando dal vivo tutta la loro forza grazie ad un mix coinvolgente di indie, folk e alternative.
